How to Enable System Permissions to Use SmartTrack Devices

Modified on: Wed, 10 Dec, 2025 at 11:30 AM

Enabling relevant system permissions in your phone's settings is the first step in setting up and using your Smart Tracker.

1. Enable Bluetooth Permission

Enable your phone's Bluetooth permissions. Bluetooth is used to allow eufy Security to discover and connect to SmartTrack, locate SmartTrack, and enables phone notifications based on proximity to SmartTrack.

2. Enable Location Permission

Enable location permissions and choose "Always Allow" to get location updates and to use the left-behind alarm.

Note: If using Android 12 or later, set location permissions to "Precise" to obtain a more accurate location.

Note: If using iOS and location permissions are set to "While Using the App", SmartTrack will not be able to find your phone.

3. Enable Notification Permission

Enable location permissions. You will not receive left-behind alarms if notifications are not allowed, or if Do Not Disturb mode is enabled on your phone.

4. Disable Battery Optimization

Please turn off "Optimize Battery Usage" or "Low Power Mode" for your SmartTrack to work normally.
