At eufy Security, we prioritize your security and privacy above all else. This guide will show you the best practices for maintaining account security while using our products and services.

Your eufy Security account is based on the email address you registered with. It allows you to login, manage devices, use the eufy Security app, change device parameters and preferences, access footage, and share devices with family members.

Never give your eufy Security account password, verification code, or recovery PIN to anyone. eufy will never ask you for this information.

How to Reinforce Your Account's Security

1. Use a Strong Password

The first line of defense for your eufy account is a strong password. We recommend using a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using easily guessable information like birthdays or names.

eufy requires that you use a strong password for your eufy Security account.

Eight characters are the minimum requirement, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

However, stronger passwords will have additional characteristics:

  • Make it long. As long as you can remember and the system allows.
  • Random characters not related to names, birthdays, phone numbers, etc.

2. Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication is designed to make sure you're the only person who can access your eufy Security account, even if someone else knows your password. When you enter your eufy Security account and password for the first time on a new device, that device asks for the verification code that is displayed automatically on your trusted devices.

You can turn on two-factor authentication by going to the eufy Security app side bar > Control Center > Two-Factor Authentication.

3. Keep your software up to date, which includes the eufy Security app and the firmware for your eufy Security devices. eufy software releases include bug fixes, new features, and critical security updates. Make sure your eufy Security App and device firmware have been updated.

4. Update Your Password Regularly

We recommend updating your password every 3 to 6 months.

This doesn't only apply to your eufy Security account. Your email, cell phone, and Wi-Fi password should also be updated regularly.

5. Beware of Phishing Attempts

Be cautious of emails or messages asking for your eufy account details. eufy will never ask for your password, verification code, or recovery PIN via email or text. If you receive such a request, do not respond, and report it to our customer support team.

6. Secure Your Wi-Fi Network

Update the admin password for your Wi-Fi router. The default admin account username and password can be easy to guess, and the device could be easy to access to anyone that connects to your Wi-Fi network.

Resetting a Forgotten Password

1. Open the eufy Security app on your device.

2. On the login screen, click on "Forgot Password?".

3. You will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your eufy Security account. Enter the email address and click "Submit" or "Next".
